I was attacking a couple of bombers from behind, and one of them exploded into flames in front of me - still, fps remained at 30. The mission probably lasted around 25 minutes or so before I finally went back to base and landed. We are attacking some bombers - JU88 I think it was - above those beautifully rendered extended clouds that came with TF4. Just flew a mission in the RAF REDUX campaign for the TF mod I have been progressing through - several aircraft in the sky, both friendly and enemy. I must say, limiting my fps to 30 has really made another nice improvement for me, on top of the improvement I already got from TF4. I was able to turn up all settings to high, original textures, 4x SSAA, and STILL GET NO MICROSTUTTERING while FLYING OVER LONDON AT LOW ALTITUDE.

what is it? After limiting to 40FPS, essentially: I confirmed with FRAPS (since I run it anyways) that the FPS limiter was working and limiting to 40FPS. I could not get the app's OSD display to work with CLOD, but you can disable the Rivastatistics' OSD easily. It installs and puts a little icon in the taskbar like FRAPS. You do not need these overclocking utilities, you just need this little app to get the FPS limitation. It is legitimate software, a low footprint FPS limiter used by and incorporated into the software package of both MSI afterburner and EVGA precision (mainstream GPU overclocking utilities). So, today I installed this little gem of an app: Even so, although only rarely my FPS would drop to 50 or 45, I would still have terrible stuttering happen quite often, especially over cities as the buildings loaded. I put VSYNC so as to limit to 60FPS (monitor refresh). I would run CLOD at 1080p resolution, but would have to drop AA and building and forest detail to manage microstuttering. Video - Radeon 7870, overclocked to 1125mhz GPU, 1350mhz VRAM (2GB) I am quite knowledgeable about the technicalities of hardware and software (although by no means an expert). I have a powerful system built for gaming.
